VIP September Visit

Anne Marie Trevelyan, our local MP for Berwick-Upon-Tweed, visited the farm on Tuesday 18th September 2018 with members from the Northumberland Coast & Lowlands LEADER programme to see how their programme of support has benefited Carroll’s Heritage Potatoes in the last 2 years.


We were delighted to welcome Anne Marie to the farm along with her Chief of Staff, Tom Forester and Robert and Ross from the Northumberland Coast & Lowlands LEADER programme. The basis of the visit was to showcase how the LEADER grant has helped our business. The day was an opportunity for us to sit down with Anne Marie Trevelyan and the LEADER Representatives to give feedback on the programme, whilst also showing them how we have made our business more sustainable by increasing efficiency with better washing, and netting facilities. The programme has been administratively assisted by the Northumberland County Council, and they now lead the important Produced In Northumberland Scheme which Carroll’s Heritage Potatoes is a proud member of.

We also spent time in Production seeing some “action” with the Del, Scott, and Bryce, where we washed and packed some Sharpe’s Express 1900.
